We believe that men deserve a complete salon experience as well, which is why we run our barber shop based on hospitality and comfort. Add to the mix our seasoned, affable stylists, who are constantly challenged to stay on top of their game with regular training on the latest and greatest techniques, and you're in for a top–notch experience.

manny vazquez: owner
Manny Vazquez is owner, founder and artistic director of The American Shave Classic Barbershop in Kenilworth, New Jersey, where he prides himself on running his barber shop like a salon – complete with hot and cold beverage service, a reception desk and waiting area, and even text message appointment reminders.
Manny spent his childhood in Elizabeth, New Jersey, a melting pot of ethnicities from which he credits his appreciation of diversity. His interest in cutting hair began early on and was influenced and encouraged by his mother, aunt and neighborhood barber. Manny’s career to date has been based on these two early
loves: people and hair, and strengthened by a stellar work ethic, discipline and a strong support staff. He has achieved all he set out to do – and more.
But he's not done yet.
Since the grand opening of American Shave in 2008, Manny and his staff have been honored with numerous awards, including the 2011 Best of Union Award. The American Shave was also named as one of the Top Ten Salons in New Jersey by V-SN TV, the number one TV channel for beauty professionals. More recently, Manny was a featured guest artist-educator and speaker for cosmetology schools, where he had the pleasure of impacting the local rising stars of the industry.
Manny is also a husband and father of two daughters. Like most working parents, he struggles to balance his work and home life; especially because he also feels like his salon, staff members and clients are family, too.
